V4 MMORPG – Mid Game Review

v4 nexon cross-platform

I started playing V4, made by Nexon, 8 days ago and to be honest I’m having fun with the game. I’m not feeling stressed playing, or trying to rush areas or fight people for quests. It just gets done. Easy simple.

The game has a auto-play in which can definitely be a turn off. The fact is though. If I wasn’t able to play on PC, I wouldn’t be playing even with an emulator. I’m just not a fan of mobile games. For now the auto play allows me not to worry about playing but just managing my character, like skills, stats, gears, and quests.

The auto play removes the need to grind and simplifying it to avoid mindless repeat activity. I feel that the auto play helps and hurts the gaming world especially for MMOs. Auto play allows people who are busy with life to play and enjoy an MMO. I appreciate the little things cause the fact is life always plays a huge part when you can play and for how long.

The old school player in me wants to grind , as well as to cast skills or mindless kill mobs in different ways. Finding better and more effective ways to farm. The auto play destroys unique play styles, it destroys a persons creativity. For example, mix and matching a party ( 2 dps / 2 healers / u2 tanks / 1 buffer ) and finding ways to farm or beat something that someone hasn’t beat yet. V4 really feels like a “solo” Game (with some functionality of a multiple player option). You don’t really need anyone to play with in order to progress.

In short, I enjoy V4 for its little things. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a MMO with a decent RPG story. V4 delivers home with the ability to play cross platforms and auto play but fails to deliver a game that is truly an MMO. The unique play styles vanish with simplicity and auto play.
