Disney of Today

Why it was

Disney in the past was something everyone looked forward to. It has changed so much beginning with how it was when I was a kid and now as I’m an adult with a 16 month-year-old.

At Disney, they’ve always tended to the customers, it felt magical. Maybe it’s a kid’s imagination or how a kid sees the world. The parades were amazing, a spot where everyone came together to watch and see their favorite character come to life. Where kids jump with excitement and laughter.

One thing that I will always remember is the feeling of being in the park early, the little pre-shows they would do, the running to get a FastPass, or getting in line for the big attraction (I’m looking at you, Toy Story).

How it was

I’ve always felt at home at Disney. From taking the buses to getting to the parks early to getting the FastPass for your favorite attraction. To make it feel magical, it takes everything and everyone, in addition to the people that just want to put a smile on your face.

Disney always took care of the customer. Any issue we came into, they always stepped up and fixed the problem. About 15 years ago, our luggage never made it to Florida for our Cruise. We reported this to Guest Relations and to my amazement they helped us with everything. They flew our luggage in (3rd day of our cruise) and filed a complaint against Delta as well as provided us new clothes and free formal wear for my family and me. They always went above and beyond anyone I ever had to deal even to this day as an Adult.

What it was

Overall, the past is something that we can only remember. We must continue to strive for newer and brighter things, while keeping what makes Disney, Disney. I can only hope the company remembers the past and how it brought joy, laugher, and fun to so many people.

“The important thing is the family. If you can keep the family together — and that’s the backbone of our whole business, catering to families — that’s what we hope to do.”
