Spellbreak: Look You’re a Mage!

Spellbreak, a battle royal game, takes it to the next level. No guns! Spellbreak not only breaks out of the typical style BR, but it also brings magic into the mix using elements like fire, wind, ice, earth, and toxic. Spellbreak is playable on Steam, Epic Games, Nintendo Switch, Playstation, and Xbox. The game has so much potential and possibilities, and we will get to see this in Chapter 2: The Fracture, coming April 8th.

Battle Royal & More

Not only has Spellbreak brought us a different view of battle royal, but they also added a team deathmatch mode and are bringing a 5v5 objective focus mode called Dominion. This will be, I believe, as close to a MOBA as we can get. I can only imagine what will come in the future. They have pushed through their first couple of years and are still standing where most have fallen.

The battle royal is fresh and fun each game, trying a different combo from using different gauntlets to using different talents. There are always “the best” or “most damage” builds, but I find it fun to be able to create fun and unique things. Spellbreak provides tons of options from tank to glass cannon to playing in squads and running different talents to help the team.

Improvement

There’s always room for improvement. I continue to see people complain and complain about games not adding content within their first year. In reality, it takes money & time to push updates out, fix problems and create new content. Spellbreak has proven they can stand against time and not close up shop.

I would like to see their website resemble a little more structure and be used as a primary hub for all Spellbreak information. Social media is great, but it lacks any solid structure making it harder to find information. The website lacks solid information about the game, while everyone understands how to search the internet, it can be a turn-off for a lot of players as it’s requiring them to do more than necessary.

Future

As we progress into Chapter 2 and the future, we will see bigger and brighter things for Spellbreak. I will be following them closely and posting my thoughts on YouTube each month. I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table and I’m happy to see they have pushed through all the problems that continue to hinder us every day.
