Swords of Legends Online
What’s New?
SOLO now has “1-boss” encounters. The raids are called Waves in a Tempest and Horror of Huaixiu. Drops are pretty standard for easy mode giving mounts and pets, while normal gives level 75 gear, PvE stones, and talisman recipes. Keep an eye out for my raid videos soon!
Starting August 15 with reset, Blood Ruvia and envoy weekly will now add the chance to get a level 75 gear piece. Blood Ruvia will drop the level 75 pants, while Envoy of the lantern will drop the level 75 top. In addition to this, our ability to collect parchment has gone up to 18 per week along with adding two new recipes that drop in the new raid, both giving excellent stat increases.
Lastly, we are no longer locked out of the raid after we have completed it! Similar to dungeons, you won’t be getting any rewards for clearing it a second time in the same week – but you will be able to train or help others with this change. You’ll get the “Instance Escort” buff automatically as a max-level player, which enables the above behavior.

Path of Exile
What’s New?
The Expedition Challenge brings a new group of NPC called, Kalguuran. We will be assisting them with recovering their ancestors’ artifacts. You, Exile, will be placing a series of explosives in different places that you will detonate and fight off waves of undead Kalguur. Once slain, you can gather the equipment and artifacts that dropped. Using the artifacts you can trade with one of the NPCs that will allow you to gamble for items.
Completing Expedition could net you Logbooks, which allow you to attempt large expeditions for greater rewards. Be careful to manage the risk vs reward as these large Expeditions can have some nasty specials.
Some of the biggest additions/changes to the game are:
- Skill Gems: (19) total new skills added, main highlights are:
- Explosive Concoction
- Spectral Helix – Hammerdin
- Eye of Winter – Frozen orb
- Forbidden Rite – Poison Nova
These skills that I’ve mentioned remind me heavily of Diablo2 and really brought back some amazing fun times. I’m currently building a “Frozen Orb” – Eye of Winter Witch.
Flasks
One thing that always bothered me in PoE, is the flasks. Needing to spam them every single time they came up, without a macro or something to “help” use the flasks. They have substantially reworked Path of Exile’s Flask system, promoting considered flask choices that incentivize interactive gameplay.
Three new utility flasks have been added: gold, corundum, and iron. Two currency items have been added, Enkindling and Instilling. An Enkindling orb adds enchantment to a utility flask that will improve it but prevent it from gaining charges during its effect. An Instilling orb adds enchantment to a utility flask that will cause it to be used when certain conditions are met.
Act 1
Act1 has had a rebalanced to various monsters found throughout Act One to make them more dangerous. Note, the balance changes made to Act One Bosses and monsters also apply to their Endgame Map versions. Brutus has taken the time to renovate his arena, enjoyed this little surprise.
Elyon
Elyon is going into close beta on August 18th, Pre-download starts (16th). CBT2 will include the ruby shop, loyalty, lumina, and pet system.
