V4 MMORPG – Cross Platform

Releasing today (July 23)! Nexon tackles the MMO RPG with Cross-platform … let’s see where it takes us. The game will be available on Android, IOS and PC.

I got the game installed around mid-night and started it up on my Android phone first. The game started off just like a normal mobile / mmo game, picking your server, class, etc. The opening scene is great, loved the work done with it, but it was short lived once in game.

Once in game, I didn’t have to do much beside click a couple buttons to auto-play and go through the settings on what I wanted things to look like or be. After that I just allowed the game to do all the work for me. I might be just old now (31), but I’m not a huge fan of the auto-play feature. I understand that it helps with the boring “grind” or leveling process and the story for those who just want to play the “RPG” aspect of things; to me though it really just destroys the whole experience of playing.

The game did it right, made a perfect blend of PC & Mobile. The auto-play functions, and the ability to log and play anywhere. The game has everything that makes a great game: daily rewards, daily log-in, daily and weekly missions, crafting, guilds and auto-play (hunt and gather). The one thing that really stood out to me was the “Sleep Mode”. This allows you to disable the UI completely and auto-play (hunt/gather); I would compare this to Black Desert Online minimize feature. I think any game that has AFK play should have a system like this in place.

I’m playing an MMO to play with people, have fun, grind mobs, quests, and bosses, but with auto-play I feel like this just removes the connection you would find with a normal MMO (no autoplay). I keep searching for an MMO to spend my time with, grinding mobs, and working towards an end game goal. Most of these new MMOs have failed to obtain this, the need to work together, the want to gather and grind materials for an epic craft or epic raid that drops the material.

Now I’m only level 24 at the time of writing this and I will write again once I get max level to understand the game more. There’s tons of stuff in the store to buy which probably can be seen as huge pay to win, as of right now, I won’t be spending any money until I understand the game more in depth.

My recommendation is if you need something to play on your phone and you like to use your PC when your home then I would say try out V4. This will be a great game to fill the void of a playing something that isn’t an FPS or MOBA.
